"We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind is one of the most potent forces for change i know"
MY CORE VALUES
I offer the above in the genuine belief in my abililty to be there for my clients in a way that is truly authentic.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychopherapy (BACP) and work in line with the Ethical Framework.
I am a Counsellor based in Cornwall.
I came to counselling after a life time of work with the emergency services and prior to that the military. I believe in the client's Innate ability to heal given the right environment and thereaputic relationship.
I offer Empathy, Honesty, Balance, Resilience, Respect and my ability to provide a truly safe place for us to work together in a mutually agreed way.
WHY GENTLE WAY
Gentle Way is a direct translation of Judo
The smallest of movement can trigger the Greatest of Insight.
As my Judo developed my understanding of balance and resistance developed.
As my TRUST grew I developed the confidence to trust in other's.
As my anxiety about falling reduced I realised the fall was never as bad as expected, I felt safe to explore and learn.
I began to trust in myself.
